Artist Statement

I am a Georgia based artist working in drawings and paintings in a realistic style. Most of my works use the figure or portrait to express emotion or an idea in a beautiful way. I am also inspired by nature and often incorporate animals, flowers, or cloud formations into my work. I am mostly self-taught and I continue to follow and learn from artist today working in the tradition of the old masters.

Biography

Tara Williamson (b. 1982) has always enjoyed being creative. As a child she could be found dancing, drawing, or building. Her love of the arts and math guided her to pursue an engineering degree from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. After college she married a fellow engineer and began her career at a private engineering firm. After five years she decided to work from home so that she could care for her three young children. During this time she never stopped learning and continued practicing her craft. Oil painting became a favorite medium and she began to improve her drawing and painting through books, videos, and workshops. Tara lives and works in Georgia with her husband and three beautiful children.
